Chem-Dry Devon

Chem-Dry Devon started in August 2005 by myself, David Sinclair and my wife Nicola. We operate from Chulmleigh in Mid Devon, so are able to service all parts of Devon.

Throughout our years of service we have dedicated our franchise to offering quality service, operating our business around the needs of our customers. The business is lucky to have a very loyal customer data base, who have witnessed the Chem-Dry experience and continue to use our services and products and we would like to thank them for their continued loyalty.

I have been involved in the cleaning industry since 1989. When I left school in 1977 I started work in the TSB Bank but left this in 1989 to join the established family cleaning business. Then in 1996 I decided it was time for a new start and moved to Devon where I set up my own cleaning business “Horseford Specialist Cleaning Company”, which involved carpet and upholstery cleaning and also some fire and flood restoration work, which was provided by a company called DRL. In 1994 DRL was purchased by Homeserve, who in turn bought Chem-Dry UK and this is how we entered in to the Chem-Dry “family”.

We purchased three licences enabling us to operate our business in all areas of Devon and this has been steadily increased to eight licences. Our customer database has also increased due to our employees meeting the high standards we expect of them and satisfying our customers so that they return with requests of more work and recommend us to their friends and relatives.

Chem-Dry Devon operate right across the county of Devon with three vans and James Page, Barry Page and myself, David Sinclair, carry out carpet and upholstery cleaning together with insurance work involving fire and flood claims and accidental damage claims. All members of Chem-Dry Devon staff are CRB checked and are fully qualified for all work we undertake, they all regularly attend training sessions to ensure that they are up to date with all new procedures and techniques.

We also like to do as much Charity work as we can, contributing to “ELF” the Exeter Leukaemia fund in 2007, when a friend of James was diagnosed with this. Unfortunately in December 2007 our daughter, Grace who is now four, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This means her body no longer produces insulin and so she needs daily injections to keep her alive and well. So now we have now adopted this as the Chem-Dry Devon Charity and try to fundraise for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, who are trying to find the cure for diabetes or Diabetes UK, who do a marvellous job of educating, encouraging and supporting people with Diabetes and their families.

We have high hopes of becoming one of the Top 10 franchises within the UK Chem-Dry, and will achieve this with hard work, motivated staff, the latest equipment but above all a customer database who appreciate our level of service and so will return to us time and time again.
